Firefox reader view subverts the paywall every time without needing the fast reaction time.

Anyway here's the render from the article:

They better keep enough of Gadsby to be visually recognizable, it's a visual landmark.

Point is, multiple ways around the paywall.

that rendering is the original one from April. Not a very good one. New ones are coming.

If you have uBlock Origin (or another ad blocker), you can just make it disable JavaScript on the page and it will prevent the paywall from loading.

Or use reader view to do something similar.

Nothing here we don't already know. But seems like SLC leaders are aware of Ryan Smith considering moving the Jazz out of the city. I feel like it will happen at some point unfortunately. Ryan Smith doesn't seem to have strong ties to SLC itself. I really hope I'm wrong though. I can't help but be excited for a potential host for multiple pro teams in the power district, but I'm prepared to be disappointed.

Why though? It's so far away from everything. It literally only benefits their portfolio, not the fans.

I don't have X but someone should point that out to him.

Steve Starks said on Sports Talk Radio that the Smith's Ballpark is not MLB compliant and that the Day Break facility will be. Not sure what that means.

I think maybe locker room issues? They'd have to probably spend quite a bit to get Smith's compliant, but with Daybreak stadium under construction, they can just make sure all compliance is met during construction.

Hopefully they add some temporary seating to increase capacity.

Definitely lost total interest in the A's coming to Salt Lake.

Hope they pick Sacramento.

They would make it 11k plus and customize that new stadium for the A’s and have legit locker rooms and what-not. The downtown stadium is incredibly old and wasn’t in the conversation. This was a no-brainer for them. The bees would then stick around in SLC until 2028.

"Incredibly old" lmao

There are currently 11 major league ballparks older than Smith's.

It's not incredibly old. It might be underbuilt for a MLB team but c'mon.

Anyway, as i said, here's to Sacramento getting the A's temporarily.

Including the ball park the A's currently call home in Oakland.

I think all of our preferences is to have the A's play at Smiths. However it is still a good thing to have the A's here in our market for a few years - even if it is in Day Break. The ultimate goal is to get our own MLB team and this can only help. Larry H Miller Group does continue to show commitment to placing the team in the Power District. I say - bring on the A's.

I agree. For me, it goes like this:

A's play at Smith's > A's play at Daybreak > No A's in Utah at all

I have a theory. The A's can't seem to get a stadium built in Las Vegas and it looks like they're not going to get public money for one. So I honestly would be surprised if the A's wind up in LV at all.

SLC isn't at the top of the MLB's list of expansion cities. It's a small and isolated market with no real neighboring markets to draw from. Nashville, Charlotte, Portland and even Montreal are probably higher up in MLB's expansion rankings.

So what I think is happening is the Miller group is making a play to poach the A's. Bring them to SLC, show that there's a market for baseball, wait until the Vegas plans fizzle out, buy the A's or a stake in the A's and have them play at the new ballpark at the power district.

The A's have botched this whole move and I think this is the best possible solution.
