Curious what they have in mind here. Maybe a smaller grocery like Trader Joe's or Aldi?

Hopefully they've moved on from the god awful hotel they proposed a while back.

Have you all seen the RFP/RFQ for the south shore harbor in New Orleans east? I have seen the plans that Anthony Mackie and his team has proposed. Great idea, they plan on developing:
12 Lane Bowling alley, bar / Resturant, and live music space

Two story office building with a co-working space as the anchor.

CITY COUNCIL

City Council Finalizes Construction Agreement Between City and Sewerage & Water Board for Dedicated Electric Substation
Seal of the City of New Orleans
Today, the New Orleans City Council unanimously approved legislation finalizing an agreement between the City and Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO) to construct the West Power Complex, a dedicated power source for SWBNO's drainage and water operations.

The substation will provide newer, cleaner, more reliable energy to SWBNO at a total cost of $30 million. The Council approved a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement (CEA) to construct the new electrical substation during a special meeting this morning.

“The combined age of SWBNO’s power turbines is 377 years old. We cannot continue to rely on ancient equipment,” said District A Councilmember Joe Giarrusso. “This game-changing project exemplifies what happens when you roll up your sleeves and do the hard work to solve one of the most serious and long-standing infrastructure problems in the city of New Orleans.”

“People told us it wasn’t possible to land this substation when we started the working group to bring the SWBNO, City, and Entergy together more than two years ago,” said Council President Helena Moreno. “Yet, here we are after two-plus years of hard work and collaboration, finally funding a substation that will reduce SWBNO’s emissions, stop boil water and flood emergencies due to power failures, and transform SWBNO’s operations forever. I’m proud of the work of our teams, my colleagues, and our community, who have all helped turn doubt into transformative progress.”

“Just as our city has evolved over the past 300 years, so should our sewerage and water systems,” said Council Vice President JP Morrell. “Securing funding for this electrical substation is critical to bringing our city’s infrastructure into the 21st century. I am grateful for all parties coming together to create a viable, sustainable solution for our residents.”

The McDonnel Group

#TMG invites all Certified Section 3, LAUCP, DBE and SLDBE subcontractors, and trade partners to bid on our upcoming restoration and adaptive re-use build-out within an existing designated historic 8-story building at 222 Loyola in New Orleans. The building is currently an exterior vehicular parking garage on floors 1 - 5, including a portion of the 6th floor. Floors 7-8 have been vacated and all demolition is complete. A 9th floor penthouse will be added on the existing garage structure along with a new rooftop pool. The final new use will be rentals/hotel spaces throughout with residential finishes

The McDonnel Group invites all Certified Section 3, LAUCP, DBE and SLDBE subcontractors and trade partners to bid on our 1010 Common Street project. The scope for this upcoming renovation includes an existing 31-story high rise to include a “Fairmont” luxury hotel, an “Element” extended stay hotel, offices, and commercial tenant space; two rooftop pools added at the 3rd and 31st floors; a new 3rd/4th-story addition to an existing 2-story annex building; minimal renovations at existing 14-story garage; and the repair of existing facades on all three buildings.

Today's #FeaturedFriday showcases our recently completed NOPD Criminal Evidence Processing Complex. This project is a new construction build of a 5-story complex with over 60,000 SF for processing, testing, and storing evidence.

The Industrial Division here at #TMG has locked down construction for a new 28,000 SF, blast rated laboratory at one of the leading domestic refinery owner/operators in southeast Louisiana. TMG and team were the designers on the project and have now been selected and released formally to start construction next month. This will be the largest laboratory project to date for our Industrial Division, and we look forward to a great construction process with our partner.

1010 Common

Nice to see 1010 Common finally get something underway, even if it's from deplorable Kailas. I hope they can do something to the exterior so it's not so bland and ugly.

I am still having a hard time understanding the two npps... one says sales area of 25,000 sqft the other 13,000. Guess we will have to wait and see when more information is given.
