I think that two lanes should be eliminated from every avenue and the major cross streets (Bowery, Houston, 14th, 23rd, 34th, 42nd, 57th, 79th, 86th, 96th, and 125th). On each replaced lane, a widened, landscaped sidewalk should be created like Michigan Avenue in Chicago does.
