I'll add to the discussion about awesome natural places just outside Las Vegas. The last several times we have vacationed in Vegas, we have spent the days outside the city proper--especially in the Red Rock Canyon Conservation Area (well worth the driving tour!) and more recently, the Mt. Charleston area. The last time we were there in late August 2019, we hiked the Little Falls trail to Little Falls, which was still flowing in the peak of the summer. The air is fresh, the trees smell good, the hiking is good for anyplace, and it's sooo much cooler up that high than it is down on the valley floor. I took a couple pics back in the before times:
