This year is the 2nd year that Hamilton Kickball will be in effect, and this year we're opening it up to League play. Last year was just pick-up, but we want to make this a full-blown league this time around, with actual teams and playoffs.
Here's the scoop:
Victoria Park (Locke and King) is where we play on Sundays from 4:30pm-6:30pm. The season official starts June 15th and runs to August 17th. That's 10 weeks. 8 weeks of regular games, and then 2 weeks of playoffs. There will also be pickup games that will start May 10th and go until June 7th. These games will be FREE.
There are spots for a total of 5 more teams in the league. Making a total of 8 teams altogether.
Teams must consist of 8 core players, minimum. You can have maximum 12 players, and 3 players must be female. You must choose a team captain, as well as a team name. Players must be 19+. The cost for each team is $200 for the entire season. This covers the cost of the rental of the park, as well as insurance for each player.
Che's Burritos in Hess will be sponsoring us, and we meet there after every game for some socializing, drinking, and mexican fare. If there are any other Hamilton businesses who are interested in sponsoring, please contact me. We are hoping to get t-shirts printed from our sponsors.
If there are people looking for a team to join, or a team looking for more members to join contact me and I will see who I can put together.
Also, the Hamilton Kickball League has already been invited to the Brooklyn Tournament game. It is being held July 5th in Brooklyn, NY. They are hoping to provide accomodations for all the teams that are visiting (they come from all over) but we will have to provide transportation. I will most likely hold a fundraiser for this. But it should be a great time!
