Sketchup 6, not 7 right?

I THINK that link should give you version 6. CNET usually has older versions of certain downloads for the most part. I wish google would do that.

Oh darn.

Oh well. Is there any particular reason you need 6?

Yeah, 7 sucks. I got a new computer and the I get the 'program is not responding' with just the little start up dude. And I have lots of RAM and memory and whatnot.

I've still got the SU 6 setup file. Luckily I hadn't removed it from my old computer after installation, so I was able to use it to install SU 6 on my new computer. I don't know how I could get it to you, though. It's 33 MB's.

I'd reckon it's the video card that makes the biggest difference. Things slow down when you start accumulating all those rendered surfaces, sprites, and what-not.

It's like running a computer game, all those that information starts to use up the amount of memory the video card can use at one time.

Also I would concur with 6 being preferable to 7. when I started using sketchup again i was all stoked and immediately checked for any updates. Sure enough 7 popped up and I eagerly downloaded it. Went back to 6 pretty quickly. It's not that's it's particularly bad, it's just not good enough to warrant all that upgrading of files and elevated risk of crashing.

basic question. I'm working on a subway and train terminal right now. as I work along the walls everytime i make a full square it creates a plane. Is there a way to make that plane hollow other than making it 0 opacity? does this make sense?

So every time i open Bourville like 2 seconds after the file opens, SU crashes. If you know why this is or how to solve it please tell me, because i desperately don't want to have to quit another city. Especially one i actually like.
