Nouvelle construction de Brigil: Vanier montre un nouveau visage
Le quartier Vanier est en pleine ébullition. Situé juste à l’est du centre-ville d’Ottawa, à deux pas du pont et traversé par la 417 reliant Ottawa aux grands centres urbains, Vanier est le théâtre d’un renouveau domiciliaire qui entraine avec lui une explosion démographique.
Nouvellement construite, Center Park est une communauté signée Brigil qui rend obsolète la possession d’une voiture, tant elle offre tous les avantages urbains qu’on puisse souhaiter à distance de marche ou de vélo: l’Hôpital Montfort, des épiceries, des cabinets médicaux, des pharmacies, des banques et de nombreux restaurants, ainsi que les centres commerciaux St-Laurent et Ottawa Train Yards sont à distance de marche; les transports en commun se trouvent à moins de 200 mètres de l’immeuble et le Parlement tout près, à 6,5 km.
Qualité de vie
Designer architectural pour Brigil, Kevin Desjardins ne tarit pas d’éloges pour ce projet: « Comme toujours, mon père, Gilles, a été visionnaire en construisant Center Park. Présentement, la pression sur le marché immobilier est énorme et la demande de logement à proximité des bureaux fédéraux et du centre-ville est là. Ça fait déjà quelques années qu’il l’avait anticipé et aujourd’hui, on accueille nos premiers résidents », dit-il.
Pour autant, M. Desjardins souligne que vivre en ville ne signifie pas se priver des espaces verts: « On trouve de nombreux parcs attrayants à proximité, ce qui permet d’intégrer des activités de plein air tout au long de l’année. On peut s’offrir une promenade au parc Forbes de l’autre côté de la rue, visiter les parcs Hemlock et London Terrace situés tout près ou marcher, courir ou faire du vélo le long des promenades Aviation et Sir George-Étienne Cartier qui mènent au Parc de Rockcliffe. Une communauté très agréable dans un quartier dynamique, stratégiquement situé pour ceux qui travaillent à la fonction publique ou qui fréquentent le Collège La Cité ou l’Université d’Ottawa. »
Communauté bilingue
L’un des nombreux avantages de vivre dans une communauté locative est de pouvoir faire connaissance avec les autres résidents. À Center Park, cela se fait en anglais et en français, l’immeuble étant situé au cœur d’un quartier bilingue réputé. La dynamique communauté francophone y trouve de nombreuses infrastructures pour les accueillir dans sa langue, du poste de police de quartier à l’Hôpital Montfort, en passant par le Centre Guigues qui garde les retraités actifs.
Center Park n’a rien de modeste. L’immeuble compte 144 unités sur 4 étages, avec des ascenseurs et un stationnement intérieur sécurisé. Des plafonds de 9 ou 10 pieds de haut, des comptoirs en quartz, des dosserets en céramique et des douches en verre ajoutent au décor. Des unités entièrement meublées sont également offertes.
Il est possible de découvrir la nouvelle communauté Center Park par l’entremise de visites virtuelles ou en personne au 638, rue Center (avec les protocoles de sécurité les plus stricts en place). Des unités sont disponibles à partir de 1 325$ par mois. Center Park symbolise le début d’une ère qui fera de Vanier, le nouveau Hintonburg.

The most glaring mistake in their article is that THIS IS NOT VANIER. Not even close.
The 417 does not go through Vanier.
The St-Laurent shopping centre and Train Yards are not at any stretch walking distance and I would not dare bike to any of those two destinations.
Transit is near, but it sucks!
Nothing "visionary" about this, one of Ottawa's blandest, most basic and boring projects ever.
And how doe rental offer an advantage when it comes to meeting other tenants. Are we not allowed to do that with a condo?
Nothing "modest" with Cetner Park. Again, have you seen the design?
And worst of all, Center Park symbolizes the start of a new era that will see Vanier become the new Hintonburg. Again, NOT VANIER. And by no means would this snoozer of a project launch any sort of gentrification effort.
