I accepted a job offer. I had applied for the same type of position here in Chicago, as well as both Seattle and the SF Bay Area (it's in Fremont but not BART accessible), and was offered the CA position. It's a great job opportunity so Bay Area here I come! Since it's in the East Bay, it makes sense to live in the East Bay. And since I've lived in relatively urban walkable environments for the last 13 years, I'm focusing on Oakland rather than Fremont (which is fine but I much prefer a more walkable urban environment, hence Oakland is the best option in the East Bay).
