According to the developer they are working on foundations, however, there is no picture evidence nor any new news. Vertical construction in 1st quarter of 2024 was the last news we received.

I will next time I'm in Miami, but, lately that's been rare unless for work. I currently have a project in for permit with the City of Miami, so there may be a chance.

There's an annoying hatred between Fort Lauderdale and Miami and us residents don't like to cross paths despite it being silly.

Fort Lauderdale is lowkey better than Miami but you didn't hear that from me But Miami Beach trumps both of them

It’s weird being in a continuous city, but culturally unique, which is the jist of the rivalry. The worst was the comments on thenextmiami.com when they posted Fort Lauderdale news.

Thank you @BrickellBased, your pictures would be greatly appreciated. I’ve been trying to reach out to the developers via email to no avail.

I passed by this site today and there is still just drilling and digging going on. No actual steel/concrete in the ground yet.

Thanks for the update, good to know the project is still active.

Hopefully we'll see steel / concrete early next year. Not sure this belongs in the U/C section yet, more just prep.

I read somewhere that they are waiting for the first Quarter of 2024 to actually start going vertical.

That's good and fingers crossed but I'll really believe it when I see it.

A lot of projects in the US are planned to "move forward". Action > Talk.

I know, that's why I'm at least somewhat optimistic.

Seeing this and One Brickell rise side by side would be awesome if that could happen.

Hell yea!

This is the 9th supertall city in the USA. All we need is Seattle's tallest to get started and it's 10.

To make sure I'm correct here are a list of supertall cities (counting U/C).

NYC
Chicago
Philly
SF
LA
Houston
Atlanta
Austin
Miami

Seattle?

The phased vertical permit was approved and issued on January 10.

John Moriarty is listed as the contractor.

A phased foundation permit for the Waldorf Astoria tower was issued to John Moriarty in July, and construction is underway."
