If you recall, the last Brandywine quarterly earnings alluded to having significant leasing commitments (like 750k sq ft or more - can’t remember). I also recall them saying they wanted to start 2 buildings by 2020. All that to say I’m surprised to not see 3003 JFK advertised on this redesigned website when it was previously reported it would be their first build out.
This is good for SY because it's right at a stone's thrown to Drexel. Being designated as a top research institution attracts more talent and hopefully research leads to innovation which is one of the themes for SY.
A park across the street from 30th Street Station is in the final stage of construction and will soon open to the public.
A crane hoisted 25-foot Dawn Redwood trees from a truck to various sections of Drexel Square Park. They will form a perimeter for the 1.3 acre urban space.
"We have our elliptical lawn here in the center," said Joe Ritchie, Vice President of Development with Brandywine Reality Trust. "We have steps all the way around it which are opportunities for seating great opportunities to use the lawn in a number of different ways for relaxing or reading or for kicking a ball around."
When the park opens in May, it will be the first completed project of Schuylkill Yards, a $3.5 billion development project on land owned by Drexel University.
Fourteen acres between 30th Street Station and the universities to the west, Drexel and Penn, will be developed over the next 15 to 20 years.
More than six acres of the 14 acres is reserved for public space.
So do these updates mean the giant video screen is dead? I thought that was a really engaging feature of the building/park.
Yeah that sucks. That was going to be a show-stopper feature at a prominent location that's aiming to draw big time investment. As i still look at this whole development sans Amazon as pie-in-the-sky I was at least hoping we'd get this cool screen.

Richard Maimon, partner at Kieran Timberlake and Jerry Sweeney, president and CEO at Brandywine Realty Trust will be speaking on the new design for the Old Bulletin Building, which faces 30th Street Station. It will be the first building in the Schuylkill Yards development. Watch for more details.
So this... thing just popped up overnight on the 3003 JFK lot. Anyone know what exactly it is? It looks to me like a mount for a billboard but there's already a perfectly functional one right next to it...

Perhaps a mount for a facade mock-up for the Bulletin Building?
