A 66-year-old woman died, and two adults and a five-year-old boy were hurt after a car drove into a bus shelter at Lincoln Heights Mall shortly before noon on Wednesday.

A car driven by an 89-year-old woman struck the bus shelter on the Richmond Road side of the plaza in Ottawa's west end around 11:40 a.m. ET, said an Ottawa police news release.

Four people were sent to hospital, where the 66-year-old was pronounced dead.

A 77-year-old man was in stable condition early Wednesday afternoon. An 89-year-old woman and the five-year-old suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the grey Toyota involved in the collision was not injured.
