I was thinking of something more original than Southwest, and unlike Interior Western States. A permanent name can be settled even after the forum is created.

In a perfect world, all the threads with "relative" geographic proximity would be grouped together, so a Southwest forum might make sense. At the moment, however, all the Vegas posters keep to their very active "City Compilation" thread; the Albuquerque posters all want to stay on SSC, and there isn't even a development thread for El Paso that I know of.

I track the Tucson projects here, but also took over a Flagstaff thread on SSC that I would prefer to move to SSP, but it doesn't get a lot of regular posts, and I don't want to lose all the earlier posts from that site.

So there's no easy answer--but a Southwest or even an Arizona forum might be nice. (FWIW, Southwest Contractor magazine comprises Arizona, New Mexico, and Nevada activity.)

I wonder if a dedicated Southwest Subforum would attract the ABQ & LV people to come on over and post more, especially if a nice invitation were extended to them.

Whether they're attracted to it or not at first they can be thrown in anyway, there would be some threads created that would be dedicated to those areas and make it more likely that there'll be Las Vegas, Santa Fe, or Truth Or Consequences threads!

I like it how it is, creating subforums for each city or state would organize everything better but drives a wedge between people of other cities. I never visit any of the city forums outside of MW.

Im not sure why non Az posters are voting on this issue or should even have their votes counted It doesn't effect them one way or the other. It reminds me of the North telling the South they can't secede, its kind of silly.

I think John's plan is to concede to a Southwest forum and then run NM and NV out of it and claim it as our own. Ever since he got that tattoo he's been rather territorial.

I agree that it should be up to you guys. I only chimed in because I enjoy looking at the new developments all over the mountain west and I don't think I would look at much if you were separate form us.

Might not be a bad idea. Us Salt Lakers did that awhile back with some of our threads. Worked out well I think.

Votes from a location other than the one being discussed are never counted.
