Please specify more, there are many ways.

Here are a few starters, try websites like amazingtexrures.com and cgtextures ( google, my friend).

Download paint.net if you don't have anything like photoshop, yes paint.net is free( google it, again)

Do not use textures from 3d warehouse... Bad

That's all for now.

Here's how I made my Rocane textures:

First I model a piece of wall with a window in it in Skethchup, like this top floor texture from the Chicago Apartments.

Then I export its headshot, open it in Photoshop, crop it and save it for web. Result is a texture like this, which I can use to paint a piece of wall.

I know some people cut out pieces of buildings in photos, fix any angle problems, and then use them. There are many websites where you can get textures, more or less for free. Google is your friend. Image search is also good if you're not too concerned about image copyright.

i downloaded paint.net which helps alot with creating textures.
also, if i need a specific type of texture i usually search it on google images and then use the snipping tool (on windows vista) to get the part of the picture i want
hope that helps
