Big ups to Mr. Lenfest for seeing this project through. All this slow churning will really make the payoff that much more exciting, as it forms. I think this may trump everyone's current favorites once it starts showing its size and shape.
It looks like all they're digging now is good virgin dirt; doing more now in a couple days then they used to do in a month. Since this site isn't large enough for a ramp, how is the dirt being lifted out from the hole?

I went back to see when work actually started here- its hard to believe but this has been under construction (or excavation) for 14 months already. This has to be MUCH longer than scheduled originally. Pretty crazy. This is probably going to be a 3 year+ project start to finish.

Looks like this backhoe on the left (15th St side) is reaching down and pulling up all the dirt that the other CATs are piling up on the western edge of the side.
· 8-10 trucks each day hauling clean fill from the site, each making 5 or 6 trips
· Installing struts at elevation +14.00, next level down from the upper struts previously installed at elevation +32.00
· Excavating deeper on each side and installing lagging boards
· Removing concrete, brick and steel obstructions, and hauling them off the site
We have removed all of the concrete, brick and steel from the Morris Building, except for this small protrusion on the north wall that we were chipping today to allow for lagging access (see photo). We believe that we will not run into more obstructions
I was wondering whether "Sky Potty" (TM) was an art installation meant to compete with the rooftop bus shelter at The Beacon, or a trial concept by Bart Blatstein.
