I think he means Philadelphia is more diverse in some ethnic way, although anthropologists had to explain what it actually means to me, cause I grew up and always lived in the Paris region, and so-called ethnic diversity is sort of random to my generation and more an more natural over here.
But these guys are just American; they've always been careful about ethnicity, right? Lol, so they still make note of it. I'm quite amused when they say - uh? It doesn't really look European - when they have to face us Parisian savages.
Anyway, I've once been to Philadelphia, while I never have to Montreal yet, and it's true that they still seem more ethnically diverse than you guys up north. They've had lots of everything for long over there, just as we've had here since WW2.
I saw you guys had some Asians and more and more immigrants from Fr-speaking Africa, but you're not just quite there yet. I mean, for instance, I have at least 3 Indian retailers/restaurants in a 300m radius from my home (while I only live some inner suburb, namely Maisons-Alfort), and yet the Indians are not really supposed to be used to our country. Then I'm like - wow, we even have more and more Indians here now. We really have every damn thing.
But it's ok. You don't have to blame on yourselves for that, cause your weather appears somewhat harsh in the winter.
