I hope so. KPF routinely does nice work. I like their proposal for BP’s 3 Hudson Blvd. What’s shown in those images, by contrast, looks quotidian per se.

If that's it, the base looks fine. I'm concerned about the next 950' which based on those "renderings," looks utterly lame.

^ Call it Son of Vanderbilt.

From the presentation, they keep showing the 900 ft version, though they say it will be 1,050 ft (not the previous 1,080).

About 933 ft in the earlier illustrative graphics...but it looks like it will have more of that golden bronze color we've seen on Vanderbilt. 270 Park may have some of that as well, but they won't please us with a rendering.

Looks like some terra cotta treatment here as well, maybe behind the glass this time...

Not as bad as I expected. I doubt the top will look like that though.

Hope it is less than 1,020ft at least other wise it will block the view of 270 Park from 1V's observation deck.

^ yeah, you are probably right, the green top seems kind of far fetched, but maybe it can be done.

the middle may be kind of lame, but the base is very nice and i like the crown section. its something different in the skyline, two pronged and green at the top (hopefully that works out ok for the trees and plants). it will stand out and look nice from a distance.

Once 270 Park and 175 Park are built, this will hardly be noticed. Crazy to think how a 950 ft tower can go mostly ignored in this city. Some of the details are nice. I like the street level details and the terraces seem nice. I'm sure it will be a nice building for the office occupants.

I don’t mind the green, but too much of it hides the golden crown at the top. But I see what they are doing, creating an atrium-like space at the top to hide what is otherwise mechanical space. It’s a good idea, but I want more of the crown visible. 270 Park is promising something similar with it’s terrace levels. But this is where things have been heading for a while now. And especially now, they want to make these office towers as attractive as possible for potential tenants.

Leasing is still strong at Vanderbilt. The spillover should continue...

Finance Firms Grab Space at Manhattan’s New One Vanderbilt Tower

MSD Partners signs lease for entire 26th floor at skyscraper

By Natalie Wong
May 4, 2021

Quote:
One Vanderbilt is filling up as Wall Street prepares to return to the office after months at home.

SL Green Realty Corp.’s $3.3 billion skyscraper next to Grand Central Terminal has been landing new finance tenants despite a pandemic that has battered New York’s office market.
Quote:
MSD Partners, an investment firm tied to billionaire Michael Dell’s family office, recently signed a 15-year lease for the entire 26th floor, according to a statement Tuesday. Mamoura Holdings, a unit of a United Arab Emirates-based sovereign investment firm, and financial services company Nearwater Management also took space at the 1.7 million square foot (157,935 square meter) tower.

Those deals, plus another six that the Manhattan landlord has in the pipeline, would bring occupancy at the 77-story building, which opened in September, to almost 90%, according to Chief Executive Officer Marc Holliday.
Quote:
One Vanderbilt, where a new restaurant by chef Daniel Boulud will open this month, highlights a disparity in the New York market: Newer buildings near transit hubs are drawing interest from tenants, while older space languishes on the market.

Transit is always a big draw.

This tower will feed directly into one of the 4 escalator wells on the new LIRR concourse.

I notice the picture that depicts One Vanderbilt and 343 Madison daytime rendering, the spire seems cut off and that is an error there.

Super confusing, wonder which one it'll be.

Looks like it could start next year according to the timetable, exciting.

That timetable could be pushed back a little, depending on how soon demo is complete. As far as the height, they say 1,050 ft.

There is a presentation for CB5 tonight, most likely the same one presented to City Planning on monday. I've cut that to the 343 portion...

Thanks. It seems that this is essentially the final design.
