All hail Chipman for bringing NHL to Winnipeg. But then Chipman out of spite will cancel PP because of ticket sales???

Chipman is much smarter than that. Also, people can shit on him if they want to. Doesn't get a free pass just cause he owns a hockey team. He's also not developing all these properties from the goodness of his heart. Smart business person.

From the article I posted a link to, the sale of PP will include commitments for rental of building space from a number of agencies, as well as what I understand is the most profitable part of the property, the underground parking. More income for TNSE, and a good news story for the downtown. i don't know why it has to be turned into a horror story?
Been to the Jets thread lately? Here are some highlights:

- Chipman is a greedy millionaire who doesn't care about the common man.
- Chipman treats season ticket holders like garbage.
- Chipman won't lower ticket prices (*they are some of the lowest in the league).
- Chipman has done nothing to enhance the fan experience during games (*has invested millions into the arena and surrounding area)

^ feel free to continue to bow at the alter of TNSE if you'd like. Hopefully you are a Jets season ticket holder.

Just because he does a lot of great things for the city doesn't have to mean he (TNSE) can't mess up what was a bulletproof core of season ticket holders, with a wait list.

They are astute business people over at TNSE, I am sure they can figure out a process to start to win back people like me. Just as long as it doesn't start with "buy tickets or we move the team".

Attendance is down across the continent, disposable income is tight and conditions are recessionary. It’s not a problem exclusive to Winnipeg. Lay off the fear headlines people. Also no one owes Chipman jack shit. Fucker lives in a mansion and didn’t drag a hockey team here because he likes or respects any of us plebs.

Why does he have to win you back? Are you unvaccinated?

^ if we are speaking of COVID, I am quadruple vaccinated as of 2022.

I was a season ticket holder since 2011. This is the first season I am not - and I don't miss it. That's what TNSE has to work at winning back. People wanting to come.

If you "don't miss it" then there's no way to win you back.

Wow - hopefully you aren't in the TNSE sales department.

Although if you are, that might help explain their current predicament.

If youre dead set that you "dont miss it" then how are they supposed to bring you back? You "dont miss it" so why would you go regardless?

Yes it was. I was there.

Saw this video on YouTube recently:

"Nine months after opening, the Portage Place Shopping Centre has failed to attract suburban shoppers back downtown. Reporter: Ross Rutherford. June 1988."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2Tko7LtREE

That was 9 years before I was born, and I've graduated university and live by myself now.
