I've resigned myself to the fact that Toronto has been inundated with soul less high-rises like that. Looking for a silver lining, I take solace in that they're structurally sound and will one day be re-clad. There's also been a shift away from that sterile minimalist aesthetic and towards better quality finishes, more exterior detailing, use of colour/warmer tones, and more variety in materials. Hopefully in 10 years and 100 high-rises later, those soul sucking glass towers will fade into the background.

Honestly most of what's going up now is better than what went up ten years ago, at least IMO.

Drive the Gardiner as much as you can before it's torn down.

Even the commieblocks in that picture have a bluish tint to them. Maybe it's the light reflected from the newer skyscrapers, turning everything around them blue. Or maybe the brown of the commieblocks is turning all the green glass into blue and the sky into purple.

That Halifax shot is stunning. The glass on the convention centre towers turned out great.

In the background we can faintly see the Appartement Dorchester (120m) rising and the 23 storey Enticy rising right next to it. Out of angle in this shot is the 120m Quinzecent condo tower. Another 120m is being planned right next to all these projects.

I don't know about "canyon" but this is one of the nicest shots of Stephen Ave I've seen…

Canada should invest in beautifying this country architecturally. Re-clad at least! Hide all these God awful 1970s -2000 crap.

You will need to find an agreeable dictator to take on the private ownership of all those buildings. Good luck.

Cool image! That crane almost looks like a cable-stayed bridge on the background.

It looks like the luffing jib crane is there for some major tower project but it's for a 6 or 7 storey building. But there might be some future towers in this view, Ralston and Skye.
