I was downtown for my weekly photo shoot and the activity at this site was incredible. I couldn't believe how much has been done in just a week. I love the webcams but they don't do justice to all that has happened down there. Stay tuned, photos coming later tonight.

From what I can see from the webcams, I would say crews here are getting very close to pouring the foundations.

I would also say that they are very close. I tried to ask but the couple of workers up by the sidewalk didn't speak any english or if they did they didn't want to answer me. This pour will be a lot bigger than the one they did at City Creek Center. They were putting rebar over the top up to where the boxes are at for the supports. They also have pipes running through it for the utilities. Pretty cool to see all that has happened and to see all the processes in building a highrise. Very educational.

I like all the construction shots--can't wait to see steel rising. My favorite, though, is that last shot that has those six buildings all in a row. I spent a lot of time on that Regent Street parking rooftop looking at that same shot. What sticks out to me about it though is that sea of one and two-story roofs for the old NAC complex. Instead of rehabilitating that somehow, I'd rather see it torn down and replaced. I know there's been discussion of condos or restaurants going into the old buildings, but I think the best option for that section of Regent Street would be new construction. The internal arrangement of those buildings, and the external modgepodge of styles, and the way the utilities are set up--I'd prefer new construction there. Or maybe I'm just trying to "get back" at NAC by wanting them erased from Regent Street.

In any case, great pics, as usual. Wonder when that pour's gonna happen.

I was looking at the 222 S main webcam throughout the day today and noticed they have used up all the rebar and are now cleaning up the site surrounding where the foundation will be... I wonder if they are about ready to pour this thing?

I e-mailed Bruce Bingham some of my photos of the site and also asked about when the pour was going to be. He e-mailed back that he appreciated the photos and shared them with the rest of his partners but said nothing about the scheduled date of the pour. It has to be soon as I think most of the rebar is in place and they should just have to finish laying the remainder of the pipe for utilities I would think.

You're right, DMTower. That rear staging area has been completely cleared out. It would seem the pour is imminent.

Is the pour going to be an overnight job, do you guys suspect? It might give cement trucks better access on and off 200 South if there's no traffic to contend with.

That really is good news. I would guess that they will be 75% by end of year or next time this year. I have no reason to think that but I'm being optimistic. I would think that once they hit 75% of more that the next new tower will be announced, at least that is me hoping. $32.00 - $34.00 lease rates, that's impressive. It's amazing what you can charge when Class A occupancy in the CBD is 90-95%. With those lease rates and already 33.33% leased its a shame they didn't go 5 or 10 stories taller.

The key tower, which is one of my favorite buildings in DT Cleveland only gets $28-$30 sq ft, however Class A occupancy is only around 80% in Cleveland.
