RXR keeps stating that the building will be ready for occupancy in 2029, so I hope that demo starts soon.

However, when I search for rooms there in April, they have availability.

I agree. This, 270 Park, and 1 Vandy are three extraordinary projects in one small area. Hopefully, 350 Park will rise too.

Nice! Glad they have those models on display. That view of 175 Park is from the north, where there is no setback at the second level, and no parting at the base.

Now let’s make it a reality.

I like how the Municipal Building and the Second Circuit tower are reflected in the glass. It shows old icons and new ones.

ughh, but excellent detective work.

so it looks like mid-2023 demo at the earliest.

They’ve said it would close by the end of the year at the earliest. But that could always change, and the hotel isn’t completely reopened.

But when demo does begin, they will also begin some site prep below ground. Move this back by at least a year…

yeah we know the hotel is not back up and running on all cylinders anymore, but lets just hope any presumably discounted early spring guests are going to have to put up with some gutting out demo work. i’m sure we will hear about it.

I agree. Perhaps they’re letting people reserve rooms with the caveat that they retain the right to transfer them to another local Marriott.

Looks around 1500-1525ft in that picture compared to the spire of 1WTC, though granted not 100% accurate. Still think it could go up another notch taking it to 1700ft+

Also what are the towers to the right?

Yea, we don't know for sure yet what the final height would be but it wouldn't surprise me if they scaled back a bit and went below the maximum allowable (1575).

I'll be happy if it tops Central Park Tower.

Does anyone know if the maximum allowable includes a parapet?

I think they're other visions / proposals. I don't remember their names though.

Excited for this one. Seeing just how dominant 270 Park is at the moment, 175 Park is going to be a beautiful freak show with respect to size. NYC builds very skinny but when it builds bulky, it goes all out!

I don't think folks realize how big a block sized super tall is. Those in NYC or who've been there know... but if you've never seen in person, its something to behold.

^ The skinny is something relatively new, and even then you’re talking about an elite group of residential towers. Unfortunately, boxy and bulky is the way to go for office towers in the city. The streets are lined with them.

People really want to gripe about something, and won’t wait for it to be given, if it exists at all. But as far as this tower goes, all eyes should be more on the design, and less on trying to pinpoint an exact height. I’m curious to see the base, if they’re going to use less colums.

The base on the model looks basically the same as all renderings that we’ve seen? How does it differ?

the model shows 6 columns on each side, the rendering shows 8.
