Developer Turning 113-Year-Old Lincoln Park School Building into Apartments

Rode by on the train this morning and theres already crews working, and sounds like the restoration will be sensitive. Great to finally see something happen to this building.

Madison and Racine. 9 story

That buildling at Madison and Racine looks EXACTLY like the one around the corner at The Metro at Monroe and Racine. Just a little shorter.

They aren't the same location, but they're close to each other. 965 W Chicago is being converted from a warehouse to manufacturing. Funny thing is that the owner is listed as Motorola Mobility. That's pretty cool if you ask me (even though I wish it was being converted into housing or retail/commercial). 63,000 sq ft. This means more jobs to the area though right?

Can't find anything on 806 N Peoria except for the fact that they're replacing the freight elevator.

Interesting. I rather retail/commercial as well as that area is so close to the Chicago ave stop and could use some residential density to provide more life to River West and Noble Square

Manufacturing jobs don't qualify as 'density'?

IIRC, there's a proposal in that vicinity for residential (at the Gonnella baking site). The site was purchased, anyway...

I saw some surveyors taking measurements of the vacant grass/dirt lot on South Clark & Taylor (between Target and AMLI 900). I hope that means some kind of development on the way there.

That sounds like MrDowntown's jurisdiction.

That might be the Seattle developer rumor I was referring to. I believe the same guy has a stake in a current project in the West Loop

^ Yes, Security Properties has a rough proposal for 300 units on the Gonnella site. It should qualify for the TOD ordinance, so we may get a crapload of car-free density there.

Or, a little further west, the Fifield development at Chicago and Wood?

Wrigley Plaza

In it's best light.

Plaza level S

Plaza level N (future home of Oppenheimer Gallery ? )

Details from the past

Why close off the top of each window ? why not bring them out again ?

^ "Plaza level N (future home of Oppenheimer Gallery ? )"

"Why close off the top of each window ? why not bring them out again ?"

Maybe its part of the build out of the Plaza level N space because Oppenheimer wants it that way? Antique art prints on paper can fade in strong sunlight. North side gets stronger light.

Your Plaza level S photo shows the tops of the windows are not closed off - yet.
