Marshalls opened today in Bathurst, very nice store, it will do well in the region. Go sport in Pop Shoes is also ready to go and very nice, clothing and a sports gear. Dooly’s signage is up so probably going to see an opening date soon.

On another note, GNC has closed, employees were packing the store today. Also NJM mobile solution, a phone repair shop, is closing at the end of the month.

Sad to see some chains go and local stores close but it is the retail wheel and it keeps turning, hopefully the mall has tennants lined up for the empty spaces!

Strong chatter online for a Pita Pit for Bathurst, rumoured to open in or near downtown.

Bathurst is quickly regaining and solidifying its status of the hub of the North Shore!!

A&W pushing hard to come to Edmundston. Facebook adds and all. I believe they have already secured a site for the restaurant.

Last time A&W were in the city was in the 80's I think.

A&W...I'm pretty sure they could get the old Wendy's location that's been abandonned for a couple of years next to Boston Pizzza. Easy enough convert.
I was told indeed that there used to be an A&W on Victoria Street in front of the KIA dealership (formerly GM dealer).

Interesting about the A&W on Victoria Street, I guess I was wrong about the building of the former A&W, but right about the area. I thought it (A&W) was the L Chiasson fourrures building where it's Maritime Sleep clinic now. Would be nice to see a pic of that! #vintageedmundston

Its was mostly an information session for the local population to learn about the project and adress concerns if any. Things are moving along, i know they are working with the NBCC as per what type of jobs they need and for programs to be set up for employee formation so that the labor force is ready when they are ready to go.

OK. Well it’s a good sign it’s moving forward. Big project! The Chaleur Terminals
Project seems really quiet. Haven’t heard anything about it in a long time.

Anybody heard about a cannabis production facility being built in the Edmundston area? Saw something on CCD Canada but can’t get more information. It talks about phase 1.

I know the Madawaska Maliseet First Nation announced last year that it was working with BeeHighVE (https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/new-b...dston-1.474093).

I haven't heard of anything since then.

Hopefully it isn't another Atcon or Bricklin.

This one has me very nervous. Hydrogen from seawater? Without electrolysis?? Secret formula???

Sounds like another "cold fusion" scam to me.

Run away NB Power. Run hard, run fast............

So the NB government is investing our money in a “secret” discovery of a process unbeknownst to the scientific community and unpublished. This is what you get when bureaucrats and scientifically illiterate people make these decisions. Outrageous really.

Anything at Belledune makes me immediately skeptical. Traditional hydrogen is difficult enough - hydrogen developed from seawater? Ok....

Let me know how these small prototypes turn out in three years.

I get the skepticism and believe me I was as skeptical as all of you when I initially read up on this but l'Acadie Nouvelle did a op-ed on this a couple weeks maybe month's back and like you everyone ahead of time were extremely skeptical.

But what gives me some hope is one of the professor's from UNB had the chance to go and view the process and he essentially says he's a believer.

Reason nothing has been published is due to patent laws, JOI (Florida based Corporation) wants to make sure everything works before publishing anything or else another Corporation with heavier pockets could come along and steal their idea.

I'm praying a Government Corporation wouldn't have invested millions if this didn't have a prays chance of working.
