I like how spoiled we are getting in Austin. We are now hoping that a 723' tower doesn't get built.

I was in the Nashville forum and someone mentioned a proposal in Austin by Karlin Real Estate concerning a 1,000 ft tower. Have any of you heard about this?

I mean, it looks like a prototype for Kylo Ren's helmet. I actually like the sloped window panes. It reminds me of the taller (never built) design of the Fairmont in that respect. And I don't mind the color. The height is great, of course, but the form just looks like Gumby or something. I think we're getting too many of these raised boxes with another raised box stacked on top. And that overhang on the west side...I'm just not a fan. You have to remember both the ATX East and West Towers will look this way along with the 4th & Brazos Tower. All four big and tall towers with very similar designs. It's a race to monotony.

Yep. No confirmed height, but based on the renderings, one of these at least could be pushing 1,000 feet. I estimated 950 feet, but I could be off.

Anyway, with this tower now, we'll have 7 towers either under construction (6 X Guadalupe) or proposed that are over 700 feet. Um, Dallas currently has 5 towers over 700 feet. Houston has 11 in that height category.

Thanks for the info Kevin and it looks like Austin may surpass Houston in the number of towers over 700 feet! Austin is punching way above it's weight, Nashville too!

The amazing thing is...that pic is at least 12-18 months old. There are a few other towers which have not T.O. and/or are well under construction in that same image.

That night time shot kind of reminds me of the Minneapolis skyline at night.

Okay dammit... It's official.

Austin has arrived, and appears to be bigger than Nashville and giving Charlotte a run for the money.

Beautiful shot. WOW

Just wait two years. There are five towers U/C between 500' & 850'. If the Covid recession and WFH doesn't kill them, there are at least eight more towers proposed that are between 600' and 825'.
