Nelson Murphree Legacy Partners has broken ground on a 15-story boutique office tower at 1885 St. James Place near the Galleria.
The 165,146-square-foot building is going up on the site of the former Courtyard on St. James, which had been a popular venue for weddings and business meetings for years. Nine floors of office space will sit atop six levels of parking.

“We are excited about delivering a new landmark office building to the dynamic Uptown Park/ Galleria market,” Dennis Nelson, partner at Nelson Murphree Legacy Partners, said in an announcement.

“We have the unique status of breaking ground on the only multi-tenant office building in the Galleria area in 2014,” David Nelson, another partner, said in the release. “The site-work and foundation is projected to be complete by February 2015 and we anticipate topping out by October 2015. Tenant improvement work can begin as early as December 2015 with occupancy in March of 2016.”
