So long as there is *something* there for the public to kick around in from the cold, rather than standing outside waiting for buses.

I'll take benches and planters too.

But right now, waiting for the bus there in winter is the worst thing ever.

It should be Barrington Tower since it would be approximately from this Google Street View perspective - https://www.google.ca/maps/@44.65075...7i13312!8i6656

There are drawings and more renderings in this document - http://www.halifax.ca/boardscom/drc/...1130411drc.pdf

We should also include Westhill on Duke in this thread.

Not sure if they have found any potential tenants yet, but the space below this has been cleared out and gutted. I wonder if they are doing prep work for this addition.

This was posted previously in a different thread, but this is a good place to re-post it.

I saw crews doing bore holes by the trade mart Tuesday. Not a definite sign something is on the horizon, but at least is shows preliminary data is being assembled.

Now that I look at google maps I am slightly wrong, it was between the apartment building and the auto shop on Barrington.

It could have to do with tearing down Cogswell.

Heard a rumour about the first phase of the knockdown starting later this year. This article from December doesn't give that much hope for a 2016 construction start.

'It's exciting:' Halifax's Cogswell Interchange redevelopment project inching forward

By: Zane Woodford Metro Published on Thu Dec 17 2015

The long awaited Cogswell Interchange redevelopment project is getting closer to becoming a reality.
At the city’s Community Planning and Economic Development Standing Committee meeting on Thursday, city staff gave a presentation outlining the plan for the redevelopment of the unpopular downtown Halifax interchange.

The Metro did a cull insert yesterday about the future of Halifax and all the construction. One of the articles was about Cogswell and said the RFP was out to hire the surveyors and designers. The design phase is to take 12-14 months with demolition beginning fall 2017.

Work is progressing at a good pace. The first above ground structures are taking shape.

I think most of the basic steelwork is now assembled. Just one small bit left.
