I think we'll have to buy you a camera to get some nice shots of the Trillium and whatever else you may walk by (just a guess but maybe LSRI/BIO?)

District/Development Map on Google

I've added in working links for any projects that are "green" (under construction) that like the ones on the regular list will open the projects thread.

I've added the Irishtown Road Developments to both the compilation thread and map.

I've also updated all of the photos on the map from my latest phototour.

Great maps and pics DJ. Nice place to keep up to date with Halifax since I'm out of town.

Thanks. I try my best to keep the list/map up-to-date.

Three things I should point out;

Due to the lack of news on the YMCA Towers in Dartmouth I have REMOVED them from the list. If new information becomes available about their status I will re-add them.

The five-year delay on the Trinity Tower (Cogswell @ Brunswick) is enough of delay that it is now listed as ABANDONED and will be removed from the list on September 9th, 2010. If the lease is not renewed in 5 years time I will re-add the project to the list. This removal is simply a measure to keep the list current and not clog it up with projects that will not be proceeding in the near future.

And thirdly due to the abandoned/rejected projects and rumoured projects I have on the map two new colours have been added. LIGHT BLUE is now for rumoured projects (ie Chedrawe Condos), and PURPLE is now for rejected/abandoned proposals (see list for projects affected).

Thanks, halifaxboyns.

I've updated the list;

Washmill Lake Underpass - added to Government Projects
Dalhousie Residences - added to proposed list
5505 Falkland and Notting Village Phase I - removed from list (completed)

I'm going to update the map later this weekend provided no surprises divert me again.

I think we need some more recently completed projects ...

I've added in some new short-hand;

Frame 9^10/Exterior - 1^4 (example from the Trillium info)

the bolded part means Frame work is taking place on floors 9 & 10 while exterior work is taking place on floors 1,2,3 & 4. The ^ symbol means from floor A up to floor B (A being before the symbol and B being after the symbol).

Also I've updated everything I believe but if somebody can look over and see if there is any mistakes it would be appriciated.

Hi forum! Been creeping around the forum for years now, especially the Halifax forum. (A NS expat in Fort Mac.) It's quite amazing how much development is going on in Hali since moving out west almost 10yrs ago. It is encouraging to see the growth and potential.

the approved list is sure getting long. If we see bayview and craigmore u/c in the next little while the west end will be completely different.

I agree. Funny thing is both projects are not listed as being in the west end.

Just to let you fellow forumers know I will be out west for the next two weeks starting Thursday morning. As a result of this I won't be online as often and I (and my avatar) will not be doing the next two weekly summer phototours.

I encourage people to put on some good walking sneakers and take a walk around town with a camera in hand.

If you are in Calgary - I'd be happy to give you a bit of a tour at some good urban development here. You'd get the inside scoop - since I work for the City's Planning department.

It's a beautiful weekend coming up, so I'll pick up the slack.

I might just have to take you up on that offer if I find the time. It's be nice to get neck pains from looking so far up to see construction (rather than straight ahead like here).

^Thanks for showing me around calgary halifaxboyns. It was nice to get some inside information on how other cities are developing.

BTW I've now added a crane count to the list. As always if I'm missing any just leave a note here or PM me.

I never thought I would say this but there are so many projects on the go in Halifax (pro,app,u/c) I have no choice but to split the developments map into three seperate maps (peninsula, dartmouth, mainland).

If anybody can think of any other ideas for maps at the moment I'm open to discussion (or I encourage you to make your own too). I was thinking of making a CBD map, and a urban core map.

Provided the RCMP HQ has its two cranes installed soon Halifax could reach a milestone 10 CONSTRUCTION CRANES at work at the same time.
