While most of these tall buildings remain, an exception is the Morrison Hotel on the far left, which was demolished to make way for the Chase Tower. The Morrison remains the tallest finished building ever demolished outside of New York City.

The NYC skyline back then was like a work of art. Now it's just a clumpy mess of buildings.
