Mendoza: Bodegas López

Mendoza is world renowned for its wine production. Parallel to the pharaonic construction of canals and dams to retain and reuse water, which can be seen on the sides of all the streets, towns and routes of the province, in the last 100 years, hundreds of wineries were built. Currently, more than half of them are concentrated in major brands. A significant number, however, still belong to small producers and immigrant families who knew how to see and create a future in Argentina. In addition to all the wineries distributed among the hundreds of kilometers of vineyards in the Wine Region in the South of the province, at a short distance from the Capital, in Maipú, there are several factories and wineries to visit. Bodegas López is one of them, recognized for being one of the few that give free guided tours with tasting included and for its proximity to the last station of the Mendoza Metroway..

Mendoza: Emilio Civit Avenue

The Emilio Civit Avenue serves as a connection between the San Martín Park and the city cente. Although Mendoza had already been born several centuries ago, its true population boom came with the first waves of European immigrants in Argentina, as early as the end of the 19th century. The city grew between the 5 small squares area and the Glory Hill. At the same time, the richest families from Mendoza began to build their mansions on a new axis similar to the Alvear Avenue of Buenos Aires or Hipólito Yrigoyen in Córdoba. Being also especially privileged in its geographical location, Emilio Civit was transformed into the most exclusive avenue in the city. In recent times, with Mendoza gaining international prestige for its Wine Region, Emilio Civit also became an essential part of the tourist map, accompanied by several re-functionalizations of old houses for new clinics and private schools, and larger restorations such as the Stoppel Mansion, currently converted into a museum.

Mendoza: Pasaje San Martín

The San Martín Passage is located at Av. San Martín 1136, on the pedestrian Sarmiento corner. Built in 1926 by the initiative of Miguel Escorihuela Gascón (a Spaniard based in the province and owner of the Bodegas Escorihuela Gascón), it was designed by the engineer Ludovig Froude and directed by the engineer Edmundo Romero. The construction was in charge of the construction company F.H. Schmidt. Its double-height galleries connect Calle 9 de Julio with Sarmiento. It has casted barrel vaults with three domes that contain overhead lighting through stained glass skylights with flower motifs, which were brought from France. Its tower has seven floors crowned by a mansard dome. The set is in an eclectic French style with modernist elements: French vitreaux and floral decorations in the masonry. The building was one of the first earthquake resistant in Mendoza and also one of the first to have elevators.

Mendoza: Bus Terminal

The Mendoza bus terminal, also known as the "terminal del Sol", is an important hub for passenger transport in Cuyo and the Andean area, located near the city of Mendoza. It operates with local, national and international buses, long and medium distance. Lately it has reported great growth. It was built with a view to the 1978 Soccer World Cup, of which Mendoza was a sub-venue. At that time, the building was planned so that it could cover the needs of Greater Mendoza for the next 50 years, becoming one of the largest bus terminals in the country.
