One of my co-workers is friends with one of the managers of Five Guys in the mall and says that they are planning a Galway location? Anyone else heard this?

Haven't heard but if it's coming directly from a manager one would presume it's true..

Looks like Plaza Reit have updated their site plan recently. Showing indeed an A&W close to Tim Hortons. Larger retail next to Dollarama now split into three smaller spaces.

looks like all the places next to dollarama say lease pending which to me seems like they will be built sooner rather then later

The All Newfoundland is reporting Mark's is coming to Galway. They will be opening in one of the 3 "lease pending" properties in the Dollarama/Marshall's/PetSmart block. They didn't say if they were relocating the nearby Merchant Drive location or if it was a brand new location.

I would like to see Walmart in Mount Pearl close and build a nice bigger location in Galway. They have outgrew their location there and with many renovations done and more to come in the future, it would be nice to see a new bigger walmart open and serve the city. Even being so close to a Costco

A&W and Pizza Hut are ready to go for 2023. Five Guys
burger restaurant is lined up to open in 2024, as well
as Mark's Work Warehouse.

Two other deals are ready to close next week and
involve a restaurant and a retailer. Williams said. Across from the Scotiabank, the new medical centre is to be occupied in the next three or four months
with six general practitioners and four specialists,
including a pediatrician, Williams said.

There are also proposals for a satellite medical clinic
that Williams expects should take pressure off the
hospital emergency rooms. "We've always said that, you know, location, location,
location for Galway because it's at that crossroads,
he said.

Probably should be in the Transportation thread. The interchange construction will be constructed finally to allow traffic to enter and exit properly from Galway’s west entrance on the TCH with an underpass and entrance/exit ramps. Should be finished by 2024. Link to story below.

I was in Galway this morning and excavators are working at two sites. They are near Dollarama, which is the site of three leased units including Mark's, which is an extension of the building that includes Marshall's, Michael's and PetSmart.

They are also working in the area next to the new A&W.

Finally seeing construction happening inside Pizza Hut location.
Marks pad construction underway as well.
