Are the Wabash & Michigan projects in the South Loop on hold? Why is there no activity since ERS installation?

I apologize if this is not the appropriate place to post this, but has anyone heard any updates on the former NEMA Phase II site?

Have been wondering if the potential development boom in the south loop associated with stadiums, etc., might help whatever gets built there to go pretty tall.

Unfortunately, the developers have placed the NEMA 2 site on the market.

I think that's old news but I may be mistaken.

Crescent Heights is getting rid of so many potentially amazing properties. I hope the new developers have some ambition.

The market must be crap right now...

85’ height increase on this one. Looks like unit count is staying the same at 500. Meeting this Thursday for updated details.

Unless I'm forgetting something obvious - which is totally possible - this is the first height *bump* I can remember in awhile lol.

After first sharing its plan publicly in September, Fern Hill reconfigured it to increase the tower's setback from Wells Street, reduce its width by 15% and make it 85 feet taller, according to a statement from the firm.

Old Town Canvas would include 100 affordable units to comply with Chicago's affordable housing ordinance, according to the zoning application, bringing a relatively large batch of lower-cost apartments to a neighborhood with few of them.

Seems like the construction pipeline is really drying up here. Major housing shortage incoming and already showing up in jumping rents.

Zoning app is out for the project. Including mechanical, the final height is 494 feet. It might be worthwhile to now make a thread for this project

1016 W Jackson is acquiring additional parcels to increase to slightly increase their unit and parking count. What's interesting is that they're reserving the lot & warehouse at 1015-1027 W Adams for a future phase 2. That'll be about 150 feet tall with 158 units, no designs were given

There's a few thousand units tied up in pending new construction permits and hundreds of new units in existing buildings in pending renovation permits. I figured out how to get these in an easy way.

Yeah I've heard a couple anecdotal stories recently where the City of Chicago permit process was the bottleneck holding up some routine renovations (my company's office, a friend adding an addition). I thought streamlining the Department of Buildings was a priority of recent administrations, starting with Rahm. And in the current environment, I wouldn't expect the department to be overloaded with requests. What gives?
