[Bedford] 864 Bedford Highway | 20 m | 5 fl | Completed

Credit: Dmajackson

Name: The Wyatt
Floors: 5
Height: 20m
Uses: Residential
Status: Completed
Year Completed: 2010
Location: 864 Bedford Highway (Southgate Drive - Nelsons Landing Blvd)
Architect: W.M. Fares
Developer: OLL Leasing & Holdings
Additonal Information: None

Back in 2007 North-West Coumminty Council approved a 5 storey, 52 unit building for what is known as Wyatt Road here in Bedford. The building is now under construction and the developer (United Gulf) wants an ammendment to the DA for some architectural changes.

Proposed Development Agreement Amendments
Case 01282 Details
Development Agreement - Case 00690

For anyone unfamiliar with Bedford 864 Bedford Highway is located between Southgate Drive and Moirs Mill Rd just before Nelsons Landing Blvd. Its just metres down the road from 827 Bfd Hwy and Southgate Village (both have threads) and faces Moirs Pond and Mill Cove.

I'm through the area a lot so hopefully I'll have a photo up in a couple of days of the lot.

Oh and on a side note they now have a mobile crane on site.

I dont mean to sound rude or anything, but why is this development getting attention on this site when there are many such developments going up around HRM? There are always 4 or 5 story condos going up.

Well two things prompted me to make a thread for this;

One, the site (unlike others in Bedford) is right on the Bedford Highway and not hidden in the forests and hills.

And two, this one had a development agreement for the building only and was not part of some massive surburban sprawl project.

Yep it wasn't done when I drove by later either. If my memory serves this would be the first tower crane in Bedford (near the highway not the suburbs) since the Ravines Condos (or earlier).

So this appears to now be topped off and some exterior work has begun.

Some architect needs to sell the apartment & condo developers in this town a new set of plans. Every low-rise development looks the same. Surprised the photocopier hasn't worn out yet.

Thanks Harlington for the photos (even though we both went out on the exact same evening and at around the same too oddly).

As long as this building doesn't choose the same colour scheme as the Tides or Ravines condo buildings I'll be happy.
