All I can say is, 'Wow'! That pic really puts the size of downtown into perspective for me.

What are teh rough demisnions of downtown? It appears to be about 1 mile by 3 miles.

I think it is probably roughly 2km north to south and just under 3km from the westend across. That is a guess.

I'm not very good with Miles sorry

Also interesting to note that BC Place's roof ripped and was deflated on Friday due to the weather. It's a strange sight:

Holy shit Vancouver is getting so dense. You can see how the skyline has stretched east and south with the concord pacific condos. The Melleville poking up has made ahuge difference in the skyline as well. Its crazy that so many buildings above 40 stories are either under construction or approved for the penninsula. Imagine what that same shot will look like in a few years with Jameson House/ Woodwards/ Capitol Residences/ Shangri la/ Fairmont Pacific Rim/ Hotel Georgia / that twisty tower on georgia/ ymca tower/ and the Hotel Georgia as well as many other shorter buildings....... Its going to be insane!

It looks like the cut-and-cover pits been dug along much of Cambie in the pic, so it's recent. Cambie's the street you're looking straight down. I think I also see the cranes on Willow and at Crossroads up, and Cooper's Pointe (or is it landing?) looks topped out, so maybe even the last week.
