San Francisco from Alamo Square. Day & night

Hello everybody!

Just got back from San Francisco and L.A. after spending there 10 fantastic days, I bring you some pictures from Alamo Square, in San Francisco.

I must say that this square and park is so beautiful like the six houses placed in one of its sides, known as "six sisters". It was incredible to visit this place and enjoy of its wonderful views of the downtown above these beautiful victorian houses, built in 1895.

It has been our first time in California, and we have unforgettable memories there. We´ve returned to Madrid very sad after spending those fantastic days there.

I hope you like these pictures, taken with all our happiness living that moment.

The views of the San Francisco skyline from Alamo square are amazing. From left to right: Transamerica Pyramid, 555 California Street (Bank of America) and 345 California Center (First Interstate center) with two USA flags on it.

In this picture, you can see the dome of San Francisco City Hall. In the background, One Rincon Hill South Tower.

We never got tired to see this wonderful skyline.

And some photos of the Six Sisters:

When the darkness arrived, the skyline was even more amazing, though the night was a little foggy. These pictures were taken around 19:15 h last tuesday October 25th.

Thanks for looking...

Greetings from Madrid, Spain.

Great pics! Glad you got to see San Francisco & LA in person. Did you find that SF was what you expected it to be or different?

San Francisco, great city. The pink ladies I believe these are called? We have similar such historical townhouses in Sydney, but they are made of brick and ironwork but painted in similar bright colours.

Painted Ladies.

And I didn't know they had similar stuff in Sydney. You have any pics?

Thanks for all the coments! I´m glad to read them.

San Francisco was much better than I expected. I´ve returned to Madrid really in loved with San Francisco. I liked it more than L.A., though I liked L.A. too. But San Francisco has something special, probably the Fisherman´s Wharf, or the Embarcadero, or Alcatraz, or the Golden Gate, or the streetcars, or the hills, or the seals in Fisherman´s Wharf, everything... But, the most I liked of San Francisco was its beautiful houses. It was incredible to see so many victorian houses everywhere. Besides, the majority of them were decorated with pumpkins, lights, monsters, spiders... It was really pretty.

I´d like to live in San Francisco. It´s simply beautiful. It has everything to be happy there.

Soon, I´ll post more pictures from our trip.

Greetings from Madrid, Spain!

wow. gorgeous.

nothing like the juxtaposition of the Alamo Sq painted ladies and the layered look of the downtown skyline behind it. classic.

the berkeley hills and even mt. diablo looked close enough to touch!

Thanks for the nice comments!

I didn´t know anything about Mt. Diablo, and I realize that it appears in one of my pictures, just behind the City Hall. Thanks, edsg25! I suppose it must be a nice mountain to visit, mustn´t it?

Thanks for your words, sunbeach! It´s a pleasure for me your invitation. I´m glad you liked my pictures.

Yes, we had a wonderful time in San Francisco, and of course that it´s a very special city, OhioGuy. We enjoyed there very much. We hope to return there someday.

And thanks to ColDayMan and mSeattle too!

I´m preparing another thread about San Francisco, and I hope to be able to show you as soon as possible.

Greetings from Madrid!

I'm glad you enjoyed your visit and hope you can return again soon. I'd like to come visit Madrid and Barcelona. It's cool that you were able to hang around (or return) for nightfall. BTW, I think there are actually seven sisters on that edge of Alamo Square (the one on the corner is generally included), but no matter. Great shots!
