It seems like it was just completely random. Tragic.

The University of Texas at Austin UT Tower was in the darkened configuration tonight in honor of student Haruka Weiser. The Tower darkened after a community gathering on the East Mall to honor Weiser and her life. Weiser, a first-year Theatre and Dance student, was tentatively identified as the victim of this week’s homicide on campus. My deepest condolences to Haruka’s family and friends. — at The University of Texas at Austin.

Women, by nature, bear children, which makes the whole fucking difference between them and sorry ugly dicks like us. They look for strong confident people, because they know strength will bring better children to them. It is natural, like coming from above. Throw away your gun and keep making deeper love to your wife. It'll be fine this way. Surely, love is the only way to get stronger.
If you live in a violent place you need to be able to protect yourself. If you live in some place like Montreal, Japan or Scandinavia you don't need one. The same rules about gun control do not apply the world over, and it has nothing to do with some "making deeper love" nonsense. I personal don't own a gun and don't plan on getting one ever. But I will never tell or look down upon people who live in northern Mexico or the Congo and tell them to "make deeper love" instead of doing what they need to do to protect their family.

Americans won't do something about it because most Americans just haven't traveled outside of the U.S. America is all they know & love. When u live a "superpower" try humbling yourself to visit another country when ur own country has such an enormous population to begin with. With many vibrant & diverse cities in many different climate ranges.
Most Americans simply don't believe their is anywhere that is safer than America (which they live in & are patriotic about & love). Its only the odd time when an American does eventually travel that they realize this is not actually the case.
(Also it doesn't help that having such low vacation leave days/ benefits compared to many other European Countries & Even Canada, keeps most US traveler's & visits Domestic as opposed to International). As long as America/
Americans continue to believe that they are the greatest nation in the world, in every conceivable metric.
They will never humble themselves to understand that they could learn alot of good things from other countries as well.
Like Healthcare & Less Murders in general.
Canada is by no means perfect, it works for me & theirs alot of things I think my country could learn from other countries.
(Few of which are that negative but some still are). At least I can admit this though, try asking the average American to admit that
their country has a high murder rate or their healthcare is no good & watch for their response.
Its usually something like this. "It Only happens in certain sections of the city or its because of Gang Violence". Or "it doesn't affect the vast majority of
people". You notice Americans ALWAYS deflect & detract from what is actually taking place rather than saying, "it shouldn't be happening at all".
& even about Healthcare they just regurgitate whatever their media tells them about "Socialism" or "Universal Healthcare" or
the good that paying for healthcare does (because of the quality of the doctors as opposed to having to wait).

Montreal has two after a female employee was stabbed by another employee at a grocery store.

Edit: Looks like it wasn't an employee and the relation between the two is yet unknown. He entered the store and went directly towards her.

SF is at 12. A man was shot dead in the Portola district, and a woman was found dead in McLaren Park...and her two-year-old daughter is missing. Hope they find her alive and well

There were 17 at this time last year.

Yep. This article says her murder was the first on campus in a half century. That likely goes back to the UT Tower shooting of 1966.

You're only counting the city. As has been mentioned before, the Vegas PD serves more than just the city of Las Vegas. It, basically, serves the whole metro (hence, the name Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department). They serve an area of over 2 million people. The actual rate is about 2.4 per 100,000.

As of 4/18/16: Philadelphia 79

2015 - 65
2014 - 69
2013 - 70

http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/r...in-Philly.html

The numbers above may not reflect the additional violence Sunday.

Update:
As of Monday, the city had recorded 78 homicides since Jan. 1, up 17 percent from the same point last year and the highest pace since 2012, according to police figures.

The number of shooting victims, meanwhile, was up 44 percent - from 228 at this point last year to 329 as of Sunday night. Aggravated assaults involving a gun were up 9 percent over last year, police figures showed.

Things like this make it very difficult to appropriately compare cities. Arbitrary city limits and police department jurisdictions both cause these problems.

Las Vegas: 49 after a young store clerk was shot and killed during an armed robbery at a liquor store last night. Surveillance video has been released and it is very clear. Hoping to catch the low life people who did this soon.
