That pic feels like a blue/white filter was added to the photo - the masonry on the building is yellowed and it doesnt look like they painted over it? So what gives? How does the blue look with the yellowish masonry?

Unless they sprayed it white...

I found this pdf on some history of the old Embassy nightclub as I was trying to figure out if that's being renovated as well at the moment.

Im 90% sure the club has been renovated to be "Mansion Nightclub" but they seem to have run into licensing and money issues.

I like it. The flesh-toned panels have always bothered me. The image does look like it's been filtered though, so I'll have to see it live in daylight for a final verdict.

And those aerials show just how deep those buildings are... sooo long and narrow.

Theeey got their work cut out for them cleaning the rust off that stone in the middle building.. That building always got me in that it still had its original pre-confederation window shutters on it.. even if all the fancy pediments had been stripped off..

as for the one where they painted over the panels - they really need to give that stone a treatment as it almost looks like yellowed ivory piano keys.. cuz yeah from far away the panels look better but the stone looks shabby now in comparison I find.. but I get that that's expensive to fix.. and that its crumbling..

The side of the corner building is looking nice though - I approve of the metal panels for it - it suits the all glass exterior.

All of this could use a good sodablasting... although it looks liek they already have cleaned the majority of it - that one left corner still needs work though..

The MacKay building (home of Burrito Boyz) looks really good.

Its neighbour to the east does too.

Hopefully the two getting the extensive renovation treatment complement them well.

Well it ain't perfect, but its 5000% better than what it was, exterior and interior - those wall interior panels are interesting.. or what remains of their imprints anyways.. I know they have been doing EXTENSIVE work inside.

That block is really looking amazing, I hope something a little more inviting is done with the embassy building in the next few years. It's really unfortunate that theres no entry through the front.

There was supposed to be a new club going in there.. itll be a long time before they get the taint removed from that place..

Seems someone is maintaining the liquor licence at this address:

It's a pity the exterior still looks a bit grubby..

It's looking good and closer to complete

And Chronamut will be happy, these weren't in the renders

Well that plywood across is a nice uniform way of hiding all the steel and wood lintel beam wtfery going on underneath it hehe..

..and yes, it's nice that they are adding a cornice to the second building - probably a good idea - it would have had one originally and it helps to hide any remaining stains on the stone..

the cornice ends feel a bit lazy though.. unfinished looking on the ends how they don't angle off.. like baseboards in a house abruptly ending at a corner instead of angle peaking.. still.. I'll take what I can get.
