I thought an SSP user had a really good Google-based development map that they shared a while back? Wish I had bookmarked it...

I did bookmark it: https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/vi...738388668&z=13

Looks reasonably up to date. Not sure who maintains this.

I really like how they made a little cantilever on the east elevation to give it some extra breathing room.

Loving the tinted glass and black mullions too. More like 448 LaSalle please.

It's like a 2010s version of Inland Steel. Definitely a nice addition to River North.

I agree that the billboard on top of the Vesemann Building needs to go...

^ Plus the ad. We’ve been seeing that same Restore Hair ad with Brian Urlacher now for like 10 years all over the place

Building permit was issued for 1400 W Randolph (Randolph & Ogden) to build a new 25 story, 278 unit + retail building. This is diagonally across from Union Park, near the Ashland Green Line stop, and once housed Urban Belly and Belly Q.

I believe this has grown in height too - the articles last year say it would be 22 stories to the roof and 223 feet tall, with 252 units. It appears it's going to probably grow another 3 stories and tack on 26 additional units.

Rendering via Curbed via Brininstool + Lynch (https://chicago.curbed.com/2019/8/22...lyq-union-park)

Also if you remember at the end of June, new construction permit was issued for 1440 W Randolph (across the street) for a new 11 story building with 243 units.

Damn, it'll be wild to have these two rising at the same time from the same developer. 180 N Ada must have really been a cash cow for Marquette to go this big in this corner of West Loop...

I believe it actually is wood but they figured out some sort of process that allows it to hold up outside with little to no maintainance.
