You are correct - they are not interested in your business. Get over yourself - not every business wants to pay additional construction, assume additional risk, and have additional maintenance costs just to get extra business from people who will only patronize them if they can do so while driving. Everywhere in the world there are people who choose to drive is true, but it's equally true that everywhere in the world there are people who do not drive and it's equally true that all else being equal it's less expensive to have customers who don't demand parking than to cater to drivers.

With an understanding of the many parking podium discussions on this forum, I find the lack of parking facilities in a newly constructed business meant to serve persons coming to Chicago from somewhere else...often via car...a potential oversight, and maybe not a positive. No place to park is a big PITA, and it can have an effect on where I choose to spend my money.

"often via car" - I run a small guest-oriented business primarily serving out-of-town guests. Do you know what percentage of my guests drive? Approximately 5%. And those 5% usually also cost me the most in time and orientation because they arrive less predicably, are less confident in their ability to find their way around, are more scared of their surroundings so require more hand-holding, and have usually (with only one exception being a couple of Aussie in town to drive Route 66) been less sophisticated guests.
As such, I can absolutely see a business catering to people from outside the city deciding to not cater to drivers and focus on people who are more comfortable with a more traditional urban experience.
In other words, not only do I not go after drivers, I actually actively discourage them from becoming customers and it hasn't hurt my business one bit and I have much less stress. And I live a 5 minute walk from the Tri-Hotel development.
