It has a somewhat snobbish reputation like nearby Upper Saddle River , Alpine and Ho Ho Kus.

Ah , I live in Washington Township which is east of Ridgewood. I wouldn't say the county resembles Brookline,MA except in the older dense railway towns like Ridgewood or Glen Rock. There are extremely dense areas in the southern area of the county and there are semi rural sections of the county in the North.
