This is quite possibly the coolest picture I've ever seen of Dallas.

As I stated before, I really like downtown Dallas, just look that these and you know why. My only problem as I just wish it was more vibrant, it certainly is big enough. I would even go out on a limb and say its one of the nicer downtowns. Besides the lack of pedestrians it could rival many eastern cities downtown, for sure it has the density. Not bad for a sunbelt city I would say.

Thanks everyone for the kind words

ChrisLA: It may seem fairly dead now, but once all of the residential towers have been built/converted and people start moving into them, it will be a whole new scene. There should be a noticeable difference in street activity between now and the end of this year, and an even bigger difference by the end of next year.

bartzman: I'm not exactly sure which tower that is. I'm sure someone here knows the name of it.

Are you talking about the blue tower to the far right? That's Fountain Place, an office tower. It's 720 feet tall with 62 floors, finished in 1984. The building was actually supposed to have a twin.

The other shorter blue tower on the left side of the pic, just to the right of that utility pole, is St. Paul Place. For some reason that picture is kind of deceiving, though. It makes that building look much taller than it actually is. It's actually only 268 feet tall with 22 floors, built in 1983.

John Roberts who is a forumer here, runs a website on Dallas and Fort Worth. he has a page on it at his website: http://www.dallasarchitecture.info/

Here's the page on it, with pics and info:
http://www.dallasarchitecture.info/stpaul.htm

I hope that helps.

You probably need to be very specific if you would like for us to identify correctly the building that you are questioning.

Maconahey, you have come up with a great collection of photos, as usual.

Damn, she is packed into them jeans!

Nice pics of big D. Lived there for about three years, but haven't been back in about 6 long years... looks like a lot of new stuff going on. Hopefully downtown will become more lively in the coming years.
