New Downtown Restaurant and Night Club

New restaurants at King William and Hughson! At the old Room 41, “European Night Czech & German Food” and the old Rude Native, “Armani’s Night Club”. Both are to open in 2 weeks. Supposed to be people from Toronto getting away from the high rents!

Good luck to them. Rents at those locations are high by Hamilton standards. Let's hope they think up a catchier name for the restaurant. Why not simply call it EURO?

^^ Great news! I hope their 'Toronto Influence' doesn't rub off on the menu. My only complain re: London Tap House is their very select menu (2 small pages).

I think Hamiltonians like choice, and by the sounds of it, there'll be lots to choose from from those two ethnicities!

good news...yea the names need some work, but ultimately places with a good vibe and food is what matters.
I noticed that the European Restaurante at Jackson/Catharine has popped in a bunch of windows on their west-facing wall. Good idea. Windows are always good for a restaurant.
Too bad it faces a parking lot...but hey, it's downtown Hamilton. Few buildings don't face parking lots.

Hopefully the Czech place will have a decent Czech beer selection, rather than just Pilsner Urquell.

Can't wait to try it! - The Black Forest Inn is probably my favorite restaurant in the city.

Geoff you should try Zum Linzer sometime (Main just east of Wentworth). Excellent German/Austrian cuisine here.

RTH I had heard that European on Jackson had shut down the resto and the building was vacant. Maybe building owners are doing a renovation?

interesting...I assumed it was them because the sign was still up. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

So much for being purchased by the Church of Scientology. Who was the one that posted that rumour?

While I found the rumour of Scientologists buying the building a tiny bit hard to believe, bear in mind there are property owners and there are tenants. The restaurant is a tenant in the space and not the owners.

If memory serves the listed owner is a registered company number. It is quite possible that the Church of Scientology could be the actual property owners.

good thing it's a restaurant. Much preferred for this area. Plus, the more buildings that get purchased by anyone NOT named LIUNA, the better chance we have of salvaging this street someday once LIUNA gets lost.

So what do they serve at this Church of Scientology Restaurant? Resistance-Inhibiting Gruel? Mmmmm brainwashy.
