I love the direction that DTLA towers seem to be going.

Both the recently completed Beaudry (www.beaudrydtla.com) and this tower reference midcentury design in the announcements on their designs and both follow through.

A very LA design language and one that IMO complements the office towers we have throughout Bunker Hill much built mid century or in the international styes with clean lines, solid materials, etc.

Can't wait to see this one break ground.

Nice to see.

LA is the city that I most want to get most of their proposed projects done. This skyline needs the most work of any other in this country. Even trumps Detroit.

Another building falling into LaLa lands black hole of development proposals.... it appears to be easier building an igloo in the Sahara desert

Seriously, it's embarrassing how poorly LA is run sometimes.

Not sure this is totally cancelled or dead yet though. Hopefully a local forumer with more knowledge will weigh in.

I could be totally off base, but everything seemed fine with this project? It was approved and aiming for a 2024 groundbreaking. Given that it's only February I don't see any real issue going on?

After defeating three appeals last July, two new appeals (one by neighboring property owners and one by a labor union) were filed in October. One of them challenges the project's CEQA compliance. The other claims a violation of downtown design guidelines because the project will come within 40 feet of a proposed structure next door. All appeals must be resolved before the Planning Commission can approve the project.

Kali loOnz strike again, hope this one sneaks by as its the most LA highrise I've seen since Beverly Hills Cop. Gensler designed another fine piece of architecture in the right spot.

I'm just worried this process will take so long (if they can even defeat the appeals) that the project will die. Or the appeals will just be never ending.

Any idea when the new appeals could be resolved?
