We need a standout building on this side of Broad St. and this is it. I hope it is not a tease. Build it!

Good. It basically looks the same. I don't observe many differences in the base or overall design. The "Moving Forward" section of his website also says this:
"Next up are two signature properties planned across from the Kimmel Center which will further cement this neighborhood as the premier live, work, and play destination in Center City."

Not sure about "standout", but it looks smarter than your average bear/better than your average glass box. I like the base pretty well. The views should be amazing for people who buy here.

Go back to page 1 on this thread, Dec. 2013. Not much has changed. I think theres little doubt that Carl wants to build this, the question is can he. The last 5 years have been a period of low interest rates and high demand for both hotel rooms and living units. To an outsider all the pieces seem in place except Carl's unreasonable request for $10M in State money. Who knows if and when this will become something other then a hole in the ground. "Built it!", sure, but that's what we said in '13. Don't hold your breath.

From Summer's post of renders on Dranoff's website, two things standout according to those renders:

1) Height-wise, it stands out relative to the surrounding buildings, even with the height reduction. None of the buildings are taller on broad within a few blocks up/down Broad St.

2) Design and what appears to be high(er) quality material stands out. This appears to be a modern design and the base looks above average and the glass tower that sits above the base. Don't see any other glass towers around this project.

Well, I think the State's money was for the hotel portion and now that the hotel is no longer part of the project, and now strictly a condo building, financing and ROI might be a little better, so I'm hopeful something will be announced sometime this year. This project is still active in his portfolio.

People posted the website renders the other week. Also, you spelled "almost exactly the same" wrong... Or are you saying you've seen the current plan and it is not what you posted and we're in for a surprise in the future?

Well that's a neat trick since it looks like the exact same render from 2013.

was there a different design originally? Maybe that's what I was thinking about- this has been in the works for a long time. By bad- this version is the same one they have been showing. I guess the new shorter version hasn't been shown yet. Whatever, hopefully the new permits mean something is happening

Newbie bumping this thread with my first post. Definitely activity on the site today. Concrete barriers are installed on Broad Street and the right lane is now blocked. Two pieces of heavy equipment delivered.

Lines up with what I’ve heard, which is that this might actually start soon.

I’ll be shocked if this starts. Was a building permit actually issued?
