Smile Boston: pics from my recent trip: lots of pics

I'm just back from Boston where I spent 6 days visiting the city, I went to Cambridge and Salem too but I'll post a new thread for them, I have too many pics.
For me, Boston is, with Philadelphia, where the US begin, IMO more French (and others) should visit it,
just to know a little more about US history, it'll help people to understand this wonderful country that most of the time, they really don't understand...
(To American people of this forum: thank you for Obama for many years, I always used to defend the American view,
it'll be easier now as the whole world wants him to be elected)

So, this is the second time I went to Boston, but 1st time I didn't have digital camera, ready for the tour

Great set, Sandy. That pano is amazing; I love Boston's Parisian-style density (well, almost). Thanks for grabbing these on your trip.

I never realized how much we do up the city for Halloween before . . . great pics, Sandy! I'm glad you enjoyed Boston.

By the way, did you know that the future king of France, Louis Phillippe, lived in this restaurant 's second floor in 1796? He earned a living teaching French to the Bostonian aristocracy.

Thumbs up

Awesome scenery, but who really could screw up up when the city is so beautiful. I love the city from what I was able to see (which was a lot) in my one day visit.

But I have to add I hate their basketball team, and can't wait until the Lakers come back and kick their butt for the world championship in 2009.

So now let me go and finish up my Boston tea to try and stay warm in this sub-zero office of mine at work. (lol)

I didn't know either for JFK nor for Louis philippe, as concerns this part of French History, my knowledge is close to none!!! I hate this period, we had too many kings, except the French revolution (was in 1789, so are you sure about this date? because as I remember, after that we're not supposed to have king anymore...) to me, nothing really important happenned in France, and we only learned this part in school, about from 8 to 10 years old and never again in junior high school, high school or university.

Thanks to you, I've learned something today.

Fantastic! Quite a collection of photos there. I'm looking forward to more!

I'm becoming quite fond of that Longfellow Bridge (the one arlekin_m quoted, as it were, a few posts ago). The view from the train as it crosses isn't half bad, either.
