Looks like a third world shantytown. It would be quite a sight to see those things flying around if a Tornado ever happened.

Tornadoes are quite rare in winter in Quebec.

There was a tempo in my alley a year or two ago that is gone now. It might be because of Chinooks melting our snow more regularly but you don’t see those in Calgary like that horrendous example from Laval. You do however see every house on a suburban street with an SUV, minivan or pickup truck parked on their driveway because their garage is filled to the brim with crap. Instead of tree lined front yards you have a vista of lifted pickup trucks and work trailers blocking snout houses as far as the eye can see.

Quite the range of lodging in Niagara. I've only stayed at a motel once, and it was pretty awful. Gotta be very careful doing that because next door, at 3am, some of Niagara's finest happened to be boozing, smoking and arguing on the walkway/parking lot when I tried it. Though the worst was in suburban Detroit when I booked a motel to just rest our heads before hitting the road again and it turns out it was right beside a strip club with our window overlooking the entrance. Turned on the TV and it was amateur porn, but just that channel was in black and white for reason even though it was recent.

Other three times or so was at proper hotels like the Embassy Suites, etc from Groupon or Wagjag deals or a comp. transfer from your wife's degenerate gambler coworker who plays the cards till 6am on a weekday and then drives the hour back to just make it to work in time.

Today was a weekday in September so got some $5 full day parking next to some of the motels at the top of Clifton Hill. Like two minute walk from the action. We all learn our lesson to not go on a Saturday in July.

Anyway, some of the Falls' typical motels. Everytime I go through NF I always say I want to explore some more of the streets. I discovered a place that rents out two and three wheel scooters for $55 for two hours. I really want to go exploring on that to check out the seedier spots. And ride around Fallsview and Lundy's Lane neighbourhoods and go fer a rip up Clifton Hill and see how well the bike makes that climb. Niagara Parkway past the border crossing I'm not sure I'd try because some cars are doing 70 in a 50 even though it's lined with B&Bs.

You can also get some escooters for $69 for 7 hours but those are skinny and don't look as fun.

That's indeed something, although I don't know that it's soul-sucking.

This is where Luka Magnotta lived and committed the decapitation/cannibalization. The building was so fugly it drove him to madness.

Why is Milton's Premium Outlet Mall always so busy? https://www.google.com/maps/@43.5762...7i16384!8i8192

I don't know. It's absolutely nothing special. Never could I have imagined that in the early days it would cause backups on the 401 for people exiting at Trafalgar to turn right. Three years ago on a Saturday I was passing by and wanted to go to one store and there was literally no parking so I gave up. At least there's a parking garage now. But I still don't understand how it can draw in so many people and from so far. I don't get the sense of there actually being consistent good deals like at Dixie Outlet mall, which I prefer even though it's a decades old enclosed mall that has nothing fancy about it.

I stopped at Bass Pro at the Niagara Outlet a few days ago to show my daughter the fish and I have to say, I like that outlet better. Only been three times and it was never packed, and I just like the layout better. Though as with any outlet, I wouldn't go out of my way to visit.

I just did a big shopping trip to Niagara outlets. It really is a lot more affordable than regular malls, especially for certain stores. Some stores are basically the same but some are much cheaper.

And yea, Niagara is much nicer as it’s not as busy. I’ve gone to the Milton one once, that was enough. Luckily it was after the parking garage so I didn’t need to deal with the parking mess that happened before that opened.

I do think the Milton one has some higher end brands though which the Niagara one lacks.

That Milton Premium Outlet mall is truly one of the worst places in the known universe. It is the bowel of materialistic assholedom, and an absolute traffic nightmare.

I love how it's branded as Toronto Premium Outlets when Toronto is 50-60 km away.

Montréal Premium Outlets does the same. It's in Mirabel.
