I'm referring to that its about 1450 ft right now. So 100 ft to go = 1550 ft. Keyword, "approaching 1500 ft".

It's crazy how much it currently dominates the skyline and STILL has the equivalent of a 10 story building left to go. Exciting times

Yeah definitely. Just keeps rising, and seems like it will continue forever.

Which seeing just the impact CPT has, can you imagine if we ever get a 600m tower. Going to be nuts, the impact on the skyline!

If a 600m tower was built within proxy to that area, or around Central Park South (Park lane... for example)... the boost in elevation from sea level would add about 130-150 ft to it.

CPT is around the 170-200 ft range boosted by topography elevation from AMSL, so from 0' or sea-level, you can add pretty much 150-175 ft to its apparent, visual height from sea-level.

The ESB for example gets about a 100 ft boost due to elevation as viewed from sea-level.

Are you sure that it is still 1450 ft?

Extell’s Central Park Tower Approaches Topping Out, in Midtown

By: Michael Young 8:00 am on June 24, 2019

New photographs of Central Park Tower, aka 217 West 57th Street, show the glass climbing even closer to the top of the tallest residential building in New York and the Western Hemisphere. The reinforced concrete structure will soon top out at 1,550 feet. The project is being designed by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill and developed by Extell, which is expecting a project sellout of $4 billion. The Nordstrom retail component in the podium will open on October 24, 2019.

Yes, 220 is left behind in the dust.

Based on the schematics you just showed us, it looks like the actual concrete roof will be 1515ft.
Thats ok with me, still 65ft taller than the Sears/Willis tower.

A lot of buildings have parapets. The visual mass will still be 1,550 feet, i.e. gigantic.
