Gateway Block 4 | xx' | 10 Floors | Proposed

A pre-application conference is pending to discuss construction of a 10-story, 309,060-square-foot mixed-use building at 232 N.E. 97th Ave. The building would hold approximately 317 residential units and 3,565 square feet of ground-floor commercial space, as well as a below-grade structured parking garage with 119 spaces. A proposed extension of Northeast Davis Street would run east/west along the property’s southern edge. The site is comprised of six adjacent properties on Northeast 97th and 99th avenues that total 1.46 acres in area and are owned by developer Joe Westerman or limited liability companies registered to Westerman; three currently hold single-family homes, one holds a small multifamily building, and two are unimproved. The applicant is Terry Amundson of Koble Creative Architecture.

Yes it would be. At first I thought Portland Adventist hospital would be taller but after looking a Google street view this project would be taller.

The Gateway area has been zoned for this height and density for a long time. Its great to see a large development coming to the transit hub.

This is really gonna stand out in that area at 10 stories. I hope this is the beginning of many taller buildings coming to Gateway. The city really needs to get ahead of this area and get to work on some actual master planning and follow through with some designs for pedestrian walkways cutting these long blocks up, and making it safer for pedestrians to cross the busy cross streets.
