I went on a picture hunt

Since I'm the only one whom lives in Copper Square and can easily take pictures, but never do.... I decided I'll finally contribute.

The Convention Center is growing!!

One does not understand the scale of this project until you actually see it. I'm wondering what they are going to do for parking though... that AZ Central garage is not big enough for both the newspaper AND hotel.

This is probably the ugliest building in all of the world!!!

Alta - I got a bunch and I'll explain.

Alta with cranes and things in the background!

Installing footings at Alta

Pouring the cassions

Each board is covering a hole that white contraption dug

The orange contraption will then fill it with steel and concrete.

I love the new UofA building

T-Gen + UofA + AZ Center

Walter Chronkite

McKinley row almost done! I love this project and that whole area around Mckinley and 3rd Street has a lot of great ficus trees and is starting to get the whole neighborhood feeling. Those of you who complain phoenix has no trees - downtown has a LOT of ficus trees, they are just young.

I R grajawaited high school, but for the kids whom haven't, they can go here next semester.

I love the fossils in the side of it.

Its a shame the city lets this type of shit happen

The SECRET part of the Sheraton! I guess they are storing all the parts in this two block area and then transporting to the hotel.

I wish my house had crane parts to climb on

And I haven't shown off my new place yet so here goes!

It's 3 floors, one is the entry way, then the kitchen and great room + 1 master and a hall half bath. The third floor is a loft and another master. Total is 1630 sq. ft. 2 bedroom 2.5 bath with a balcony on each level.

Looking at the loft upstairs from the great room on the 2nd fl

From kitchen, the corner left of the TV is where the last pic was taken

I loved the kitchen when I first toured the home

From downstairs master. Stairs on left go down, then the ones above go up.

Third fl view. If you look REALLY closely you can see 44monroe peeking out.

Thanks for viewing!!!

Fucking A man, you contributed pics, now you're untouchable. Congrats.

I almost bought a place in your complex a few years back before the market ballooned, shame I didn't. My friend made a bundle because he got his in the late 90's when no one had moved downtown yet.

Good pics, you should now make a point to use the word "contraption" as much as an F-bomb.

So was this thread a part of some community service, on account of a plea bargain? Or is it a part of rehab?

Actually, I like this building, in a frumpy, charlie brown christmas tree sort-of way. It looks a lot better now than it did last year.

And is this the Biotech H.S. I've been hearing about?

Nice pics!

LOL. Judging by the looks of his pad he'd have to be a pretty smooth criminal or a really lucky drug dealer.

Vandercook,

What's the details on Alta Phoenix? Haven't seen much info (or maybe my lazy azz hasn't searched hard enough) so I was wondering what renderings any one has and other info. And since it has started with it's groundwork and looks like we'll be seeing someprogress this year...maybe a new thread should be started on this thing....if it's worth looking at that is.

Great pics and nice place btw...hope to see more.

LOCO SOY YO....VIVA COPPER SQUARE!!!!

Hey Loco,

AltaVista is an apartment complex going up just north of Arizona Center. The buildings will be from 6-8 stories high, nicely filling in that block. You can check out some info we've assembled on the Phoenix Development News, but there isn't much. Just a pretty lame computer rendering showing the massing, but nothing really spectacular, since the company doesn't seem to be the press-release-info-providing type of organization.

There were doubts a year ago that this project would happen, but there were some dealings that probably went on between Phoenix and the developer to make it work on paper.

All right John Nice shots...I really like the fossil impressions on the side of the high school. It's always interesting to come upon whimsical touches like that, especially on a glass and concrete box. Your place looks nice and roomy with a stylin kitchen...congrats!

Yeah, Alta Phoenix (read: not alta vista) is a 350 unit apartment complex and will feature units around the outside of the parcel with the pool/parking/amenities in the center of the parcel. Those are a LOT of units so this could be the kind of project which would spark something in that neighborhood.

I think anything is better than empty dirt lots....my best friend said he just bought a condo on 17th ave and glendale. I'm going up to PHX within the next two months and I'm sure they'll be mad progress for all the projects within phx. TKS all.
