What was that about not all old buildings being worth preserving?

I found this while poking around on the HRM website: http://www.halifax.ca/boardscom/hac/...illeStreet.pdf

Looks like that weird, run down white building across from the Public Gardens on Sackville Street might become registered...

That's absolutely ridiculous. No wonder nothing ever changes in this burg. I went thru the scoring matrix in the staff report and came up with maybe 10 points out of 100.

The frigging thing was given a score of 52 out of 100. A score of 50 or above is necessary for potential heritage designation.

I drove by it today just in case I had missed something. I hadn't. That score is ridiculous and really raises questions about the credibility of the whole process. This building is truly nothing special at all.
