Saw this photo in a CBC story recently - I thought it was a pretty cool angle of the skyline that I don't recall seeing before. Too bad it's not higher res though:

That's a great angle. I got something similar last spring.

Don't like it. Makes us look like a shorter Sao Paulo or some other 3rd-tier Brazilian city.

Sao Paulo is the largest city in Brazil and accounts for 10 percent of the Country's GDP but it's third tier?

I like the angle. Looks more to me like a miniature Chicago.

Just delete the word "other" which refers back to Sao Paulo, including it in "3rd tier" => or some 3rd tier Brazilian city.

Great photos as always mcminsen! Am I the only one who didn't know the Tap Shack existed behind that water park at Coal Harbour? Just noticed it this year.

Possibly.

I remember taking out of town friends there many years ago. I think it was formerly The Mill Bistro(?).

I presume they were closed for most of the pandemic.

Actually, maybe they were open last year (first pic).

Second pic is from four and a half years ago.

They're pretty much seasonal. Only open during the dry months and close up during rainy season.

It's been there nearly 20 years; as Mill Bistro it was Daniel Frankel's first restaurant in 2003. He subsequently opened Tap & Barrel, and converted the Bistro into Tap Shack back in 2017. They seem to have adopted a new system of ordering by app, or at the bar, with no servers to take orders. It's getting some poor reviews as a result - but like many places is no doubt finding it hard to get staff. There are inside seats, and they used to open year-round, but that may not be true now.

Wow, 20 years! Can't believe I missed picking up on it. I guess I assumed from the seawall that it was a concession stand.

Funny I just assumed T&B bought them out. It's a nice outdoor spot, and a that fountain is a great splash park for kids, though I'm sure that's not the design.

They definitely closed during COVID, I guess we'll see how long they stay open in 2022.

Just defended your post on reddit from people calling the photos "creepy." Shame you felt the need to delete your post though.
