They have topped out at the Ascend apartment complex at Five Points South and are now putting up the siding for that building. They are working on the Macaroni Lofts and they should start work on Phase III of 20 Midtown on 20th Street South this month or next, with an increased number of units from 278 to 312.
PLEASE let this be true about 20 midtown.

I wonder if they'll have to remove any of the work in place that's been sitting open to the elements for all these months.

I know right, sick of the delays. They said it was about money. January is about gone, so it looks like February.

These cranes just seem to come in waves. I started getting discouraged early fall last year when there were just 1 or 2 dotting the skyline. Now it seems we're back to the activity we saw during the boom. Also, won't be long before we have some tower cranes over at the BJCC for stadium construction.

Lot's more coming. They are building a new aircraft rescue firefighting station at the airport. the airport authority is spending $117 millions in the next 4 years on capital improvements there. That's two (or more). The carrawway development. Three. Southtown development. Four. New car rental development at the airport (might have cranes there by now). Five. Legacy Arena will have one . Six. It's estimated that there will be over a billions dollars in development projects over the next THREE years alone. So even more cranes

Corporate Realty is planning a large mixed-use project on University Blvd on some Southern Research property across 24th Street S and its separate from the Southtown development. Another large apartment complex for 3rd avenue and 13th Street South, not far from the Sherman Cement property. Like you said more coming down the pipe line.

Thanks for all the photos and updates, Tim!

I reallllllly wanna know what is going to happen to Brown-Marx. IMO, that building is the crown jewel of the HCOE. The amount of work they're putting into stabilizing the building, I can't imagine there isn't a plan to redevelop it soon.

But damn, if they transform that building into a hotel or condo/apartment building, that would put SO many more people in downtown. If it were converted into a hotel, that would put 4 hotels within a block of the Heaviest Corner On Earth... I can't even imagine what that could do for businesses in the neighborhood.

Finally. They've been placing pylings for the foundation for a while... weather has really held construction back.

I really cannot wait to that thing at around 60% completion. I do wonder what passing through town on the viaduct will thing. Even moreso after CityWalk BHAM is finished.

^seems unlikely that they'll restart it anytime soon given the pandemic (although fortunately it seems that most construction projects currently underway are still moving along)

You are probably right, I had such high hopes for this project. It would have made a huge visual impact in that area and the mix of businesses and restaurants would have made that area very dynamic.
